Freedom from Fear
God
is our best defense against fear—and against the things we fear.
God is our
refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not
fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried
into the midst of the sea.—Psalm 46:1-2
Because
he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver
him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call
upon Me, and I will answer him; I will
be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.—Psalm
91:14-15
The
name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.—Proverbs
18:10
I,
the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will
help you.'—Isaiah 41:13
Do
not fear. ... When you pass through the waters, I will be with
you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over
you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the
flames will not set you ablaze.—Isaiah 43:1-2 NIV
God
will replace fear with peace.
Now
acquaint yourself with [God], and be at peace.—Job 22:21
When
you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your
sleep will be sweet.—Proverbs 3:24
Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in
the Lord.—Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
God
has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.—2
Timothy 1:7
With
God beside us, we have nothing to fear.
The
Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?—Psalm 27:1
Whenever
I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God I have put my
trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?—Psalm 56:3-4
Even
though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with
me.—Psalm 23:4 NIV
Behold, God is my
salvation, I will trust and not be afraid.—Isaiah 12:2
